Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

Version 2026-11-04 ยท Effective November 4, 2026

Plain-English summary: CalibRunway is a forecasting tool, not a financial advisor. Its numbers, charts and AI answers are estimates that can be wrong. You stay fully responsible for your company's financial decisions, and you use the service and its integrations at your own risk. The full terms below control.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you (and the company you represent, together "you") and CalibRunway ("CalibRunway", "we", "us"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. If you accept for a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

2. CalibRunway is a tool, not financial advice

CalibRunway provides software that organises data you connect and produces estimates such as cash runway, Zero Cash Date, burn, scenarios, digests and board reports. It does not provide financial, accounting, tax, investment, legal or other professional advice, and no fiduciary, advisory or accountant relationship is created.

All outputs are informational estimates based on assumptions and on data that may be incomplete, delayed, duplicated or wrong. You must independently verify any figure before relying on it and consult qualified professionals for decisions about your business.

3. Your responsibility for financial management

You alone are responsible for managing your company's finances, including cash management, payroll, spending, fundraising, reporting to investors or boards, regulatory and tax obligations, and every decision you make or don't make using the service. CalibRunway is not responsible for any outcome of those decisions, including insolvency, missed obligations, or statements made to investors based on the service's outputs.

4. AI features

The AI Scenario Calibrator and other AI features use third-party large language models. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent or fabricated, including miscalculations of runway, cost, revenue or dates. AI answers are not reviewed by a person and are not advice. You must check any AI output before acting on it. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CalibRunway is not liable for any loss arising from AI output or from reliance on it.

5. Integrations and third-party services

The service can connect to third-party services such as Stripe, banks through Plaid, and QuickBooks Online. You authorise us to access data from those services on your behalf. Those services are operated by third parties under their own terms; we don't control them and aren't responsible for their availability, accuracy, security, or any change, outage or breach on their side.

We use reasonable safeguards, such as encrypting stored access tokens, but no system is perfectly secure. You acknowledge the risk that data could be exposed through a security incident affecting us, our providers or a connected service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CalibRunway is not liable for unauthorised access to, or disclosure, loss or alteration of, your data, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct. You are responsible for securing your own accounts and devices and for revoking access you no longer want.

6. Accounts, free trial and billing

New accounts get a 14-day free trial that doesn't require a payment method. When the trial ends, access to the service is paused until you subscribe to a paid plan; your data is kept. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled and are billed through Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change prices with prior notice. Usage limits, such as daily AI questions and weekly email sends, apply to each plan.

7. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no unlawful use, no sending spam or misleading emails through the reporting features, no attempts to access other customers' data, no reverse engineering, overloading or interfering with the service, and no use that infringes others' rights. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Your data

You keep ownership of your data. You grant us a limited licence to process it to provide, secure and improve the service, including sending it to providers such as AI model and email providers as needed to deliver features you use. You're responsible for having the right to connect and share the data you bring, including recipients' email addresses. How we collect, protect, keep and delete your data is described in the Privacy Policy (section 15) and the Data Deletion section (section 16), which are part of these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CALIBRUNWAY AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, FUNDING, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, ITS OUTPUTS, AI FEATURES OR INTEGRATIONS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR US $100 IF GREATER.

11. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless CalibRunway and its owners, employees and suppliers from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your use of the service or its outputs; financial, business or investment decisions made by you or anyone relying on information you share from the service; your data and your connected accounts; emails and reports you send through the service; or your breach of these Terms or of law.

12. Termination

You can stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms or to protect the service or other users. Sections 2โ€“5, 8โ€“11, 13 and 15โ€“16 survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes we'll ask you to accept the new version in the app before continuing. Questions about these Terms can be sent through the support contact in the app.

15. Privacy Policy

What we collect. Account details (name, email, sign-in method and security settings, handled by our sign-in provider); financial data from services you connect: bank balances and transactions (through Plaid), revenue, subscription and customer counts (Stripe), and vendors, bills and invoices (QuickBooks Online); data you add, such as scenarios, Calibrator questions, sales pipeline files, target dates, alert settings, notes and the email addresses of co-founders and investors; and basic usage and security records such as Terms acceptance (date, IP address, browser), email delivery and open events, and usage counts.

What we never collect. Your bank or QuickBooks passwords. Bank sign-in happens on Plaid's own screens and we only receive a revocable access token. We don't store full card numbers; payments are handled by Stripe.

How we use it. Only to run the service you asked for: building forecasts, answering Calibrator questions, sending the alerts, digests and board reports you set up, billing, security, fraud prevention and support. We do not sell your data, rent it, or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with. Service providers that process data on our behalf, only as needed: our hosting and database provider, our sign-in provider (Clerk), Stripe, Plaid, Intuit QuickBooks, our email delivery provider, and AI model providers (such as Anthropic and Google) that receive a financial summary and your question when you use the Calibrator. Investors and co-founders receive only the reports and emails you choose to send. Teammates you invite can see your workspace's data (and editors can change it) according to the role you give them; their own Calibrator chats stay private to them. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

How we protect it. Encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted storage of integration access tokens, per-account access checks on every request, optional multi-factor sign-in, and the least access needed for each connection. No system is perfectly secure, and section 5 applies.

How long we keep it. We keep your data while your account exists, including after a trial ends, so you can pick up where you left off. Disconnecting an integration deletes its stored access token straight away, and the app goes back to sample data for that source. When you delete your account, section 16 applies.

Your rights. You can see and correct your data in the app, disconnect any integration at any time, and delete your account and data yourself. Depending on where you live (for example under the CCPA in California or the GDPR in the EU/UK), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port or delete data, or to object to processing; contact us through the in-app support contact to use them. We'll respond within the time the law requires.

Children. The service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.

16. Data deletion

Delete it yourself. Go to Account & privacy in the app, choose Delete account, and type DELETE to confirm. Only the signed-in account owner can do this.

What happens, in order. (1) We cancel any active subscription so you aren't billed again. (2) We delete your sign-in account. (3) We revoke our access to your bank (Plaid), QuickBooks and Stripe. (4) We immediately erase your forecasts, financial data, scenarios, Calibrator chats, pipeline, reports, report links, email history, alert settings and the co-founder and investor email lists. (5) We email you a confirmation.

What we keep. A minimal record that an anonymised account was deleted and when, so we can honour the request. Remaining copies in encrypted backups are overwritten within 30 days. Invoices and payment records that Stripe or the law requires to be kept are held by Stripe under its own policy. Emails already delivered to your investors or co-founders stay in their inboxes.

It can't be undone. Deleted data can't be recovered. Use Download my data on the Account & privacy page first to keep a complete copy.
